Melissa Smith, Pianist, Teacher, and Managing Director
David Saslav, Vocalist, Teacher, and Marketing Director

Tenor David Saslav most recently starred as Lloyd St. Pierre in the San Francisco and Berkeley performances of Berkeley Opera's "Daughter of the Cabinet". His other recent appearances include the dual role of Don Basilio/Don Curzio in Bayshore Lyric Opera Company's 1997 production of "Le Nozze di Figaro", and in choruses for City Opera Theatre's inaugural "Jenufa" production, and the Lamplighters 1995 gala "Rosencrantz and Guildenstern's Excellent Adventure". The son of professional musicians, Saslav specializes in lieder and choral performance. Saslav has performed solo recitals in San Mateo and San Francisco, and can be heard frequently in collaboration with pianist Melissa Smith. He can be heard on recordings produced by the San Francisco Symphony, San Francisco Bach Choir, California Bach Society, and Chorus Cappella of Orinda, the latter two including solo work. He is also founder and artistic director of "Ora*Cappella", an all-employee-based a cappella choir at Oracle Corporation, where he works full time as a Senior Product Manager. He currently studies voice with Baker Peeples in San Francisco.
No picture available Melissa Smith began studying the piano at age seven in Havre, Montana, and performed her first solo recital at age 14. Smith studied piano with Dennis Alexander and Steven Hesla at the University of Montana in Missoula, where she received a Bachelors Degree in Music with honors. After college, Smith became well known as a pianist, organist, accompanist, composer, and choral director throughout Montana. She also premiered several works by local composers in addition to her own works for solo piano. In 1987, Smith composed a rock opera, "Child's Play", which received its world premiere in Missoula. Smith currently studies with concert pianist and teacher Eliane Lust. She performs recitals and masterclasses in the Bay Area at venues such as Old Saint Mary's Church, Star Classics, Century Club, Berkeley City Club, Maybeck Recital Hall, Pacifica Community Center, , and the Palo Alto Cultural Center. Smith is the owner and manager of Renditions Music Services. She teaches piano in Bay Area schools under the auspices of Keyboard Educators as well as private lessons in San Francisco.
